625 is what my War has, 650 on my ele. Any less than 600 is pretty bad tbh, and if you're running Radiant...then you're horrible at the game.

I'm never under 700.

*sarcasm detector*

Usually around 550.

Not running Radiant, always Survivor, but I usually use a Sup, and I don't always use a fortitude mod.

I never go anywhere without a skillbar consisting of 7 enchantments and [skill]Symbiosis[/skill]. 1400+ health FTW!

In all seriousness, on my necro, it's all about the less health. 10% sac on 600 is 60, so yeah, the less health the better most of the time. Plus, monk heroes don't overheal - seriously, the AI may be crap, but it is omniscient about game information such as exactly how much health you have, versus how low your bar 'looks.' It knows that your halfway means you need 300 health to get back to full, or it means you only need 200, etc.

Eles, Monks, Mesmers, Rits, and melee should have as much health as possible, at least in HM. In NM, you can have 300 health and probably still have no problems. Rangers and Paragons don't really matter as much. They're usually the last standing when a party wipe happens, anyway, which pretty much means they're the last to get targeted.

My warrior usually has (I think) 538 hp. It is not as if that 62 HP is the difference between win and fail.

Of course, whenever I PvP, everyone is at 630.

580-610, too lazy to whip up 640-health sets.

Nec - 590+
Ele - 596-ish, depending on weapon
Para - 600+
Monk - 610+
Rit - 621

The heroes on my main (Nec) character are all runed up, as I'm plodding through HM dungeons and such with that character and 480 health on a hero is LOLno in my experience.

I'm still not sure how having under 500 health proves you're awesome at the game

Whatever one superior rune, a major vigor (and in a few cases I went ahead and sprung for the superior), and survivor insignias on the head, feet, and hands comes out too. Usually around the 450-500 mark depending on exactly how the rest of the runes/insignias go.

Of course, as highly experienced players and obviously MUCH better than me have pointed out I suck because of that - heck sometimes I even take all +armor whilst in PvE.

I have yet to find anyplace that allows me to take my three heroes and four hench that I can't clear (even in HM and using my own team build) so it works for me.

At one time I found the need for really high HP in some of the so called "elite" areas but even then once I figured out what was there my skill choice and tactics mattered WAY more than my health. Alas there are only a very small handful of areas I can solo that way - the rest require me to find at least one other hero player and it seems random if we can mesh or not.

Of course I also find the hench monks to be able to keep me alive in those areas too - were I better player I would find myself dying all the time like the rest of the pro's that tell me I can't do those areas (and note, before some jump on me, the very specific group I am making fun of - you most likely do not count).

VERY different story in PvP, but that wasn't the question. Nor do I particularly find PvP very fun because it is infested with the above mentioned "pro" players that feel they need to tell me I can not play the game whilst they are a corpse and I am not - though when one finds a good group it is a blast (due to my work schedule I can not commit to what is needed for a guild of decent players so I am mostly stuck with said "pro" players unless I H/H PvE - and thankfully I enjoy playing that side of the game).

Anyway - if you are enjoying the game and completing areas that you want too I would generally not worry overmuch about it. If you find you are hitting a roadblock a high HP build is an easy change and is usually quite effective.

Someone once said that higher hp is usually to broaden the margin for error.
If you find in PvE your group are not having their health drop below a certain number in fights then you'll be more efficient to balance the hp with more powerful attributes. That is just to make the fights faster.
The longer people are playing together the better they can guage what they can get away with and try to balance out their stats so they are not wasting them.

570 in casting sets 630 in shield sets.

I'd sctually consider running +armor Insignias in PVE under normal circumstances as with damage numbers being as big as they are it would make a pretty big difference - but when you get retarded skills to do that for you it's really kind of pointless, and armor ignoring damage becomes the only real threat anyway.

So pretty much I'd probably go +armor if Save Yourselves didn't exist. I actually did when it didn't. +Energy is just pretty useless in pretty much every monk build I run.

That kind of comment makes you look silly.

My monky runs with 530(Fast Cast Set/if i use shield set i have uhm...605 ). I used to a lot of energy and i kinda use the same armor in pvp too. 1 Sup vigor, and the rest radiant and attunement insignias/runes :P I don't use Superior runes because i don't like swapping armor between pvp and pve :P Minor for Prot Glasses and Major for Healing Glasses

Question Please allow me to digress for a moment...

Ok, I have to ask because I'm just starting to get into Builds and this seems to be contradicting what I'm seeing in PvXWiki and similar locations. As I'm in the middle of revamping my armor this is of some concern. Luckily I'm "living off the land" for the runes - not purchasing them. So if I've read correctly:
  • Your armor uses Survivor + Vitae, + best Vigor you can get, + Minor runes? (Some appear to be using Majors instead.)
  • Does this hold true for all character types (casters, melee, ranged)? (So no Radiant + Attunement "sets" used for casters instead?)
  • Is this true for your characters only, or characters & heroes?
I don't want to hijack the thread or disrupt the conversation. So please send me a PM instead of posting here. I would truly appreciate the clarification.

Thank You... "And we now return you to our regularly scheduled program."
